1. Visit Parc de la Ciutadella

Let’s start with one of my favorite places in Barcelona: Parc de la Ciutadella. This lush green oasis is the perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, offering a peaceful and romantic atmosphere for a leisurely stroll. It’s definitely a must-visit spot in Barcelona.

If the weather’s nice, bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic. There are plenty of cozy corners where you can relax, snack, and soak in the park’s charm.

Photography lovers will also adore this place. Font de la Cascada, the park’s grand fountain, is one of the most photographed landmarks in Barcelona.

Park Güell is one of the top attractions in Barcelona, and for good reason. It’s a bit touristy, but absolutely worth visiting! This colorful masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and a true feast for the eyes.

Tip: Tickets often sell out quickly, especially during high season, so it’s best to book in advance. Book your tickets here.

If you’re looking for something more low-key, no lines, no entrance fee, and still epic 360° views: try Barceló Raval. It’s the perfect hidden gem for a relaxed evening overlooking the city skyline.

6. Visit One (or More) of Antoni Gaudí’s Famous Houses

The incredible creations of Antoni Gaudí have had a major influence on the beauty and architecture of Barcelona, his work can be found all across the city.

Three of his spectacularly designed houses are open to visitors, and like the Sagrada Família, they’re breathtaking both inside and out. The most famous is Casa Batlló, located on the elegant Passeig de Gràcia. A little further along the same street, you’ll find Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and Casa Vicens, each showcasing Gaudí’s unique, imaginative style.

La Rambla is Barcelona’s most famous street, stretching 1.3 kilometers from Plaça Catalunya down to the seaside. Along this lively promenade, you’ll find a mix of local shops, diverse food spots, and iconic sights like the Columbus Monument and the Liceu Theater.

While the street can get quite crowded around midday, it’s still a must-see for any visitor to Barcelona.

Tip: Keep an eye on your belongings, as pickpocketing is common in busy areas.

8. Visit Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria

Just off La Rambla, you’ll find the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, knows as: La Boqueria. It’s one of Barcelona’s most famous food markets. This vibrant market is a feast for the senses, filled with colorful produce, the aroma of freshly cooked tapas, and the buzz of local life.

To experience it at its best, arrive early before the crowds and watch the market come alive.

Barceloneta Beach is the most popular spot, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or enjoying fresh seafood at the nearby restaurants. During the summer months from June to September, warm and sunny weather is almost guaranteed, making it the ideal time to visit.
