BEST TIME TO VISIT KOUFONISIA
Koufonisia is a more remote island compared to other islands in the Aegean Sea, so keep in mind that the island only operates for tourism during the summer months (May until mid/end October).
To enjoy the unique beaches at the fullest (main thing to do here), I suggest booking your trip between mid-June and mid-September.

HOW TO GET THERE
The options to reach the island of Koufonisia are limited. There is no airport, so the only way is by ferry.
The nearest island is Naxos. From there, it only takes 40 minutes to get to Koufonisia.

HOW TO GET AROUND IN KOUFONISIA
The island of Koufonisia is tiny. There is no public transport and when it comes to renting a vehicle, you’ll be looking towards a bike.
If you want to beach-hop and explore the neighbouring island Kato Koufonisia, you can make use of the taxi boats. They run every 30 minutes from the port to different spots on the island. A day pass costs €5 pp and it’s the best way to explore the more secluded spots on the island(s).

HOW MANY DAYS
Even though this is a small island, there are many things to do in Koufonisia.
I recommend booking at least 3 days here. If you want enough time for both adventure and relaxation, I’d recommend 4-5 days.
