Top 8 Waterfalls in Bali

August 13, 2023

In July 2023, I quit my job to travel the world and my first stop was Bali. It didn’t take long for me to discover a new passion: chasing waterfalls. There’s something truly magical about standing before a powerful waterfall surrounded by lush, green jungle.

During my trip, I visited eight incredible waterfalls across Bali, and I loved every single one of them. Each has its own charm: from hidden jungle gems to easy-access falls perfect for a refreshing swim.

Make sure to screenshot your favorites, because I’ll also be sharing practical travel tips to help you plan your own Bali waterfall adventure.

Let’s go chase waterfalls!

…

1. Sekumpul Waterfall

Starting off strong with the tallest (and most impressive) waterfall in Bali: Sekumpul Waterfall stands at an incredible 80 meters high and it will truly take your breath away. Out of all the waterfalls I’ve seen, this one easily tops the list as my favorite.

To reach the base, you’ll need to go with a local guide, as hiking down on your own isn’t allowed. While this does increase the cost a little, the experience is absolutely worth it. The views, the jungle atmosphere, and the sheer power of the falls make it unforgettable.

Be cautious of registration scams. Some locals may stop you on the road, claiming you need to pay a high “registration fee.” As of 2025, the official entrance prices for Sekumpul Waterfall range from 20,000 IDR for the viewpoint only, 125,000–150,000 IDR for the medium trekking package (including a local guide and nearby falls), and 200,000–250,000 IDR for the long trekking option that covers Sekumpul, Hidden, and Fiji Waterfalls.

Or play it safe and book your tour here.

  • Parking: Included in the ticket
  • Hike duration: Around 45 minutes (fairly steep trail)
  • Best time to visit: Early morning, to enjoy cooler weather and fewer crowds

2. Fiji Waterfall

A true gem next to Sekumpul Waterfall

Just a 10-minute hike from the famous Sekumpul Waterfall, you’ll discover the stunning Fiji Waterfall in Bali: a hidden treasure that many travelers overlook.

Here, you can admire four cascading waterfalls side by side, creating a breathtaking tropical scene surrounded by dense jungle and misty air. It’s one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Bali, ideal for nature lovers and photographers.

  • Entrance price: As of 2025, the official entrance fees for the Sekumpul and Fiji Waterfalls area range from 20,000 IDR for the viewpoint, 125,000 IDR for the medium trek (Sekumpul + Hidden Waterfall), and up to 200,000–250,000 IDR for the long trek, which includes access to Fiji Waterfall and a local guide
  • Parking price: included in the entrance ticket
  • Best time to visit: early in the morning
  • Hike: 10-minute from Sekumpul Waterfall

3. Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall, Munduk

Located just 30 minutes from Munduk, Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall is one of Bali’s most underrated natural attractions. Your entrance ticket gives you access to four stunning waterfalls along a lush forest trail surrounded by tropical greenery. You can hike the trail yourself or ride on the back of a local scooter for a small additional fee if you prefer a more relaxed trip.

  • Entrance price:40,000 IDR per person
  • Parking price: scooter parking: 2,000 IDR
  • Best time to visit: all day, as the area stays shaded and cool throughout the day
  • Hike: approx. 20-minute scenic walk through jungle trails. Option to take a scooter ride for added convenience

4. Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, Munduk

Located in the lush hills of Munduk, Banyumala is often listed among the most beautiful waterfalls in Northern Bali. The twin-cascade setup, the tranquil jungle surroundings and the natural rock lounges make it a perfect spot to relax. However, because of its popularity the crowd can build up during mid-day. (We arrived around 9 AM and already saw quite a few visitors).

  • Entrance Fee: IDR 50,000 per person
  • Parking (Scooter): IDR 2,000
  • Best Time to Visit: Early morning (to beat the crowds) and truly enjoy the surroundings
  • Hike: easy, around 10-15 minutes on a jungle path/stairs down to the falls

5. Gitgit Waterfall

Gitgit Waterfall is known for its stunning gate in front of the falls, and with a dramatic drop of approximately 35 meters, it really takes your breath away. Located in a lush, somewhat secluded setting, it was one of my favourite waterfalls in North Bali.

One thing to note: you do not need to hire a guide to reach the falls — if someone approaches you in the parking lot saying you must pay a guide fee, you can politely decline and continue on your own.

  • Entrance Fee:. IDR 45,000
  • Parking Fee (Scooter): IDR 2,000
  • Best Time to Visit: All day — but arriving early will help avoid crowds and capture better light.
  • Hike: Easy, about 10-15 minutes walk from the parking area.

6. Leke Leke Waterfall

Another popular waterfall worth visiting is Leke-Leke. Because of its unique slender drop tucked away in a leafy jungle setting, it’s become a favourite among travellers. We found it a bit busy when we arrived in the afternoon, but it still felt magical.

  • Entrance Fee: IDR 50,000 per person
  • Parking (Scooter): Free.
  • Best Time to Visit: As early as possible (to beat the crowds)
  • Hike: 10–15 minutes – easy walk down through the jungle, including stairs

7. Kanto Lampo Waterfall, Ubud

Kanto Lampo is one of the busiest waterfalls we visited= about a 45-minute drive from Ubud and conveniently close to Tibumana Waterfall, making it easy to combine both. While it’s stunning, note that it’s not really suitable for swimming, and there will very likely be a long queue for photos. The locals often offer to take pictures for a small tip but they really know the best angles!

  • Entrance Fee (2025): IDR 25,000 per person.
  • Parking (Scooter): Free (or very low cost) — but for cars there may be a small fee
  • Best Time to Visit: Early morning (to avoid the crowds)
  • Hike: Very easy, around 5-10 minutes from the parking/stairs

8. Tibumana Waterfall, Ubud

The beautiful Tibumana Waterfall is just a short drive from Kanto Lampo Waterfall, but it’s much quieter and more peaceful. It’s easy to access and perfect for a refreshing swim in the natural pool below.

  • Entrance Fee: 25K IDR per person
  • Best Time to Visit: Anytime during the day
  • Hike: Easy, just 5–10 minutes

Tip: Book your Ubud Waterfall Tour in advance to explore Tibumana and nearby hidden gems in one unforgettable trip.
